Applications for CPD accreditation
FPH welcomes applications for CPD accreditation of activities which are public health related or that can be contextualised for the wider public health workforce.
This service is provided at a charge, and the benefits of CPD accreditation by FPH include the following:
- Event reviews are completed by FPH CPD Assessors.
- Accredited events are listed in the directory of accredited events on the FPH website. This is updated weekly and includes direct link to the event’s website, where this has been supplied by the event provider.
- Event providers can use the following the statement “FPH has accredited this activity for up to X CPD” in their promotional material and on the delegate attendance certificates credits
- The accreditation process is overseen by the FPH CPD Advisers Committee and reinforced by an annual quality assurance report and annual review of the feedback from delegates.
The application and review process
The accreditation process is based on the Standards and Criteria for CPD Activities – A Framework for Accreditation, published by the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges (AoMRC). Applicants will be informed by email as to the outcome, normally within four to six weeks.
Event providers should use the application form when seeking CPD accreditation. Please read the Guidance for Event Providers before making your application.
Event providers are required to include supporting documents, including a copy of the event programme and a copy of the delegate evaluation form, to their application.
Payment, according to the cost structure of CPD accreditation of events and short courses, is required upon submission of the application for CPD accreditation. The application will not be processed until payment is made.
The CPD Assessors
FPH welcomes applications from its members interested in acting as a CPD Assessor. Each CPD Assessor receives an annual report detailing the event reviews they have completed, for use in their own CPD portfolios. For further information please contact email@example.com
The accreditation process at FPH is overseen by the FPH CPD Advisers Committee. The FPH CPD Team produces an annual quality assurance report for the Committee, which includes statistics on the number of applications for accreditation, a review of the feedback from delegates attending CPD accredited events as well as data on how these events relates to the key areas of public health competence. The first report will cover the period March 2016 to February 2017.
