3 Day Health Impact Assessment Training Course,
Date: 05-07 October 2010
Venue: Gregynog, Powys, Wales
Following on from the successful delivery of the course in 2009, the West Midlands Public Health Observatory and the Wales Health Impact Support Unit are once again offering this 3 day residential course. The course assumes some prior knowledge of HIA or students have attended the 1 day introductory course. The course is very practical and involves participants in planning an HIA for a realistic scenario. Topics cover: the stages of HIA, stakeholders, evidence, causal pathways, key informants public engagement, recommendations and reporting. A mixture of didactic teaching and experiential work are used throughout. The course fee includes accommodation, all meals and refreshments, materials and guides. Gregynog is a beautiful country house with gardens set in the heart of Wales and provides an excellent location for participants to concentrate on HIA.
