FPH welcomes publication of PHE e-cigarettes report
Public Health England has today published its expert independent evidence review of e-cigarettes. Commenting on the report, Professor Simon Capewell, Vice-President for Policy at the Faculty of Public Health (FPH), said:
"FPH welcomes the publication of this report and will review it carefully. The best thing that any smoker can do for their health, and those around them, is to stop smoking now and forever.
"We therefore agree that anyone who wants to quit smoking should talk to the NHS services which use the evidence-based treatments that are proven to best help them to quit.
"Continued vigilance and further research into nicotine vapour inhalation is urgently needed; the majority of people in the UK do not smoke, and we have a duty of care to them too. We will continue to work with our partners to help deliver a smoke-free future."
