Media coverage of FPH's position on the Bill
The Faculty of Public Health has called on the government to withdraw the Health and Social Bill ‘in the best interests of everyone’s health’. Based on our members' expert views, it has become increasingly clear that the Bill will lead to a disorganised NHS with increased health inequalities, more bureaucracy and wasted public funds.
Our press release was released on February 8th and coincided with the start of Prime Minster’s Questions, during which David Cameron and Ed Miliband debated the Bill. FPH’s President Lindsey Davies gave several interviews, and our position was widely covered by the media:
