Why be a member?
Faculty membership provides individuals with the opportunity:
- to expand beneficial career networks and influence the decision making which will affect their present and future professional lives
- to contribute towards the setting and maintenance of the standards in their profession.
It also provides them with a number of sources of profession-specific information.
Privileges
All members of the Faculty are entitled to:
- receive all general notices sent by the Faculty to its members and such other publication as the Board shall from time to time determine;
- enjoy such privileges as the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom may grant them;
- attend and speak at General Meetings of the Faculty;
- vote at General Meetings of the Faculty;
- vote in elections of the Board, and of President and Vice President;
- serve on the Board;
- serve on other committees as determined from time to time by the Board;
- participate generally in the activities of the Faculty.
In addition to these, Fellows of the Faculty are entitled to:
- serve in any Office of the Faculty;
- serve on the Fellowship Committee;
- make proposals for the distinction grades of membership.

- access to other useful information via electronic updates, Faculty publications and Faculty electronic network groups;
- opportunities to get involved in public health advocacy and policy work at a national level;
- the annual conference each summer and other conferences and educational activities;
- participation in the Faculty's continuing professional development (CPD) scheme;
- use of facilities at 4 St Andrew's Place (Wilfrid Harding meeting room and President's room);
- use of parent Colleges' facilities (including the London College's guest rooms at 9-10 St Andrew's Place when on Faculty business).
