Our thoughts are with Manchester

The President of the Faculty of Public Health (FPH), Professor John Middleton, has issued the following statement on behalf of everyone at FPH:

FPH and the wider public health community have been shocked, saddened and appalled by the recent attack on the people of Manchester.

FPH sends our support to the victims and their families, our colleagues in Manchester, the wider health and social care service sector and all those affected by the terrible events of Monday evening.

We have also received supportive messages from our public health partners and colleagues around the UK and from across the globe, who share our dismay at this tragic event.

We recognise that NHS services have issued guidance to those affected.
