Public Health Today Dec 2012 cover

The FPH has a track record of publishing influential advocacy documents, and campaigning for better public health policy. The Policy, Advocacy and Communications team also organises events including our Annual Conference, works with the media, and publishes a quarterly magazine Public Health Today, alongside a blog, Better Health for All.

Read our manifesto, 12 Steps to Better Public Health.

The team works with the Policy Advocacy & Communications Committee, and its specialist sub-committees, which provide expert advice on topic areas such as cardiovascular health, mental health, health protection and healthcare public health.

We also send out a monthly ebulletin and Advocacy for Health, a monthly ebulletin specifically about FPH policy and advocacy.

We work with a range of partners, including the Royal College of Physicians, Action on Smoking and Health and the British Heart Forum to further our aim of improving the public's health.

Great Outdoors report

Recently published is our Healthy Nudges report which shows that Britons want government to prioritise a smoking ban in cars, more sport in schools and new organ donation plan.

Another recent publication is the Great Outdoors report and briefing statement reviewing the mounting evidence that demonstrates the contribution that green spaces can make to mental and physical health and wellbeing.

This information gives examples of good practice and advice on how to work in partnership to develop and make best use of green spaces for health and wellbeing.
