Revalidation news
RST releases Medical Appraisal Guide
The Medical Appraisal Guide (MAG) describes how medical appraisal can be carried out effectively. It is designed to help:
- doctors understand what they need to do to prepare for and participate in appraisal
- appraisers and designated bodies ensure that appraisal is carried out consistently and to a high standard.
The Medical Appraisal Guide should be read in conjunction with GMC guidance which sets out generic requirements for medical practice and appraisal.
Guidance on Revalidation from the GMC
From April 2012, the GMC starts to mail out a letter about revalidation to all doctors on the medical register. The letter asks doctors to confirm the organisation they will link to for revalidation (their prescribed connection).
This will be part of a series of direct contacts between the GMC and doctors to make sure they are ready for revalidation in 2012.
