National Treasures
'National Treasures' are organisations that offer specialist training opportunities for trainees. These are known as 'national treasures' because the posts are open to trainees from outside the deanery.
Trainees should ensure that the Training Programme Director of the region where the post is based is fully informed of their placement/attachment.

- Public Health Genetics Unit
The Public Health Genetics Unit is a national resource funded by the Department of Health and the Wellcome Trust and part of the Cambridge Genetics Knowledge Park . A training programme is available for placements which includes work within the Department of Medical Genetics at Addembrooke's Hospital as an in troduction to clinical and laboratory genetics, and close working within the Unit to a wide range of public health disciplines.
