Appointment of liaison team members/officers


(A service trainer and an academic trainer)

  1. Liaison members will be nominated by Faculty Advisers and approved by the Education and Faculty Advisers' Committee on the recommendation of the Director of Training (Visits).
  2. Liaison members will not normally come from the same region as the programme being visited.
  3. Liaison members will serve for a period of six years to enable them to see a full cycle of PMETB visits to their associated programme during their term of office. Trainee liaison members will serve a shorter period as determined by their CCT.
  4. Liaison team members will make contact with the programme once a year; this will not be the same programme each time.
  5. Lead liaison members must be current trainers of at least three years standing, familiar with requirements of RITA and Calman and up-to-date with CPD requirements. Trainee liaison members must be in at least the third year of training.
  6. Liaison members must have received training before making a liaison contact with deanery.
  7. The lead liaison team member is the primary point of contact with the host Faculty Adviser and is responsible for ensuring co-ordination of the liaison team.
  8. Liaison members should undertake to work within the timetable guidance for report submission.
  9. The lead liaison member should be available to the Faculty Adviser between liaison contact meetings for general consultation and discussion of progress.
