Public Health and Adult Social Care

The Public Health and Adult Social Care SIG was established to explore opportunities for improvement in population health and wellbeing through closer working with adult social care. The group will consider and develop:

  • Approaches to prevention and early intervention in populations with poor wellbeing who may seek social care in the future
  • Healthy ageing
  • Ensuring prevention is central to health and social care integration efforts
  • Practical public health tools which could be used in adult social care
  • Understanding return on investment to social care from public health interventions
Recent activities

The Public Health and Adult Social Care SIG developed a response to the UK Parliament's Call for Evidence on the Rights of Older People. The response argues that looking at the cumulative experiences across the life course may provide a valuable focus when considering the rights of older people. It covers digital exclusion, equality law, stereotyping and discrimination, labour market access, and more. View the full response here.
