The scenes of devastation and suffering in Haiti are truly horrific, and the international emergency reponse has been agonisingly slow in getting help through to where it's most needed.

The scenes of devastation and suffering in Haiti are truly horrific, and the international emergency response has been agonisingly slow in getting help through to where it's most needed. But beyond the immediate essentials, with hospitals and health centres wrecked and many staff killed or injured, Haiti will struggle to rebuild its public health infrastructure and services.
