Alcohol Licensing Under Threat

30th October 2025, 10:00am - 11:30am, Online

'Alcohol licensing under threat: the urgent need for public health responses to the UK Government's fast-track licensing consultation'

Dr. James Nicholls and Prof. Niamh Fitzgerald from the Institute for Social Marketing & Health at the University of Stirling will provide an update on government proposals to make fundamental changes to the alcohol premises licensing system including the addition of a new licensing objective of ‘economic growth’. These proposals have wide-ranging implications for public health and this webinar will discuss how public health colleagues in the UK can respond using the recent and robust evidence.

To receive a briefing paper on this issue, email: James Nicholls j.c.nicholls@stir.ac.uk or Niamh Fitzgerald niamh.fitzgerald@stir.ac.uk.
