Your Voter Guide on Health: Welsh Elections 2026

The Faculty of Public Health (FPH) has published a voter guide to help people make informed decisions about different political parties' commitments on health policy during the 2026 Welsh Elections, taking place on 7 May.

This guide – Your Voter Guide on Health: Welsh Elections 2026 – has been developed by Faculty members in Wales to help voters assess party manifestos through a public health lens.

Setting out the social and economic conditions that shape health outcomes, the guide highlights most pressing challenges facing populations across Wales, and provides a practical checklist of priority policies across five themes:

  • Children and families
  • Work and income
  • Housing and transport
  • Health and Social Care
  • Climate and environment

The guide is available in both English and Welsh language.

FPH is independent of any government or political party. The guide does not endorse any party or candidate, but instead provides a framework for voters to compare commitments and consider which manifesto promises to deliver for their health.
