Pandemic Preparedness SIG
The Pandemic Preparedness and Response Special Interest Group (SIG) was established in 2025 to bring together Faculty of Public Health (FPH) members who have a keen interest in health protection and policy advocacy on the highest global, national and local risk to public health – an infectious disease pandemic.
The Faculty recognises that whilst a pandemic constitutes a ‘whole of society’ threat, requiring a ‘whole of society’ response – public health professional leadership is instrumental to preparing for, responding to and recovering from such events. Pandemic preparedness and response requires mobilisation of specialists working across the domains of public health, as well as academic research and knowledge mobilisation.
The Pandemic Preparedness and Response SIG reports to the Faculty’s Health Protection Committee.
