Public Health and Children and Young People Social Care SIG

The Public Health, Children & Young People Social Care (PHCYPSC) Special Interest Group was established to bring together public health professionals who are engaged in, or committed to, improving the health and wellbeing of children and young people in, or on the edge of, the care system. It provides a collaborative space for members to share best practice, strengthen public health advocacy, and address the significant health, social and structural inequalities experienced by care‑experienced children and young people.

The SIG also acts as a focal point for partnership working, policy influence, research and innovation, and for developing training and education to build knowledge and expertise across the public health and children’s social care workforce, with a strong emphasis on prevention, early intervention and improving long-term outcomes.

The PHCYPSC SIG reports to the Faculty’s Health Services Committee.
