Public Health Information and Intelligence SIG Workplan 2025

Vision and aims

Our vision is to ensure that the collection, governance and analysis of data across the health sector, central and local government and academia and potential novel sources contributes effectively to achieving better health for all. We will achieve this by supporting practitioners of public health intelligence wherever they work, sharing information, promoting good practice and learning, and representing public health perspectives in discussions and decisions relevant to information and intelligence. We will promote inclusivity in data and evidence and the use of analysis to identify and challenge inequalities.

Our aims are to support members to advocate for and improve information and intelligence capability and the effective use of data, statistics and data science in public health practice and research at all levels, by developing guidance or proposals, promoting examples of good practice, and signposting resources.
