Application process for the DFPH Diplomate Exam
Candidates are now only able to book their FPH exams through the FPH Members Portal. You must read the guidance documents at the end of this page before booking.
Please ensure you read through the following documents on this webpage before submitting your application.
1. Exam Regulations (Online)
2. Policy for Reasonable Adjustments
3. Application form and policy for withdrawing from the exam
4. Application form and policy for extenuating circumstances
5. Misconduct Policy
Please may we bring your attention to the following points:
Reasonable Adjustments
Please ensure you have read the latest guidance in the above webpage before applying.
Each request for an adjustment to an exam must be made at the time of application and before the application closing date deadline.
Requests for adjustments can only be considered if the appropriate evidence from a medical professional or educational psychologist and supporting letter from a Training Programme Director/employer is submitted with the request.
To ensure the process is fair for all candidates, the Faculty requires all the necessary evidence to be supplied and submitted with the application for each exam and exam attempt. An adjustment cannot be considered without it and late documentation will not be considered. Please note that there is a fee associated with withdrawing if you wish to delay your attempt due to a condition that is currently being assessed.
The only exception to this is for candidates with long-term conditions who wish to apply for the same adjustment (that has previously been approved by FPH) at subsequent sittings of the same exam. Please see the Adjustment Policy for further details.
Payment and confirmation of booking
From July 2025, candidates are now able to split the payment of their exam fees by paying in instalments if they would prefer to do so. At the point of application, candidates have the option to pay their exam fees in full or in three equal instalments.
Please note that to be able to sit the exam, all payments must be made on the dates specified and the total amount received before the final payment date.
Withdrawing from the exam and Extenuating circumstances
The guidance for applications for withdrawals and extenuating circumstances changed in November 2019 and was updated in September 2020. Please ensure you have read the latest guidance in the above webpage before applying.

TestReach Tutorial and FPH Diplomate Exam Functionality Test
We strongly recommend that candidates take the Diplomate Exam Functionality Test to ensure they are fully prepared for the exam.
The Functionality test enables candidates to view the exam canvas before receiving their personal log in details. All FPH Diplomate Exam Candidates will receive a personal login to TestReach along with their Candidate Pack after the application closing date.
The tutorial also provides candidates the ability to review the different types of exam canvas options available and decide which may be best to support their individual needs.
Please find the details to access the TestReach tutorial and Diplomate Functionality Test below.
Please note that the alternative exam canvases can be switched on for any candidate once they have a personal login. It is not necessary to apply for a reasonable adjustment to be able to use this if preferred. This is available for anyone to use.
