Exam Application Fee Payment Options

Guidance for candidates on how to pay exam fees by instalments

From July 2025, candidates are now able to split the payment of their exam fees by paying in instalments if they would prefer to do so. Please note that to be able to sit the exam, all payments must be made on the dates specified and the total amount received before the final payment date. 

At the point of application, candidates have the option to pay their exam fees in full or in three equal instalments. The first instalment needs to be paid at the point of application, and the remaining two instalments are collected as follows:

For the Diplomate DFPH Examination:

To do this, please complete the following steps:

Step 1: Follow the steps on the following two guidance depending on your individual status to book the exam. 

FPH registrars and candidates with a previous attempt
Non registrars and candidates with no previous attempts

Step 2: At the end of the application page, you will be asked to pay by clicking on the ‘Pay now’ button.

Step 3: You will then be directed to the following page, where you can choose to pay the exam fee in full or to pay in instalments.

Option 1: to pay exam fee in full

Click on the button ‘Pay in Full’ and you will be asked to make the payment via the Worldpay system.

Option 2: Pay in instalments

If you already have a direct debit set up with the Faculty:
The system will automatically use the same bank details to collect the exam fees.


If you do not have a direct debit set up with the Faculty:
You will need to download the direct debit mandate from the link on the webpage.

Alternatively, you can download the direct debit mandate form from the link below – please complete and sign the form. You can fill the form in advance of the application date and upload it to the portal at the point of application.

After uploading the completed direct debit form, click the button ‘Pay in instalments’. Please note that you will not be able to proceed to the payment page without uploading the direct debit form.

You will then be directed to make the first payment via Worldpay system.

Step 4: Press ‘Continue’ to see confirmation of your payment and application.

Please note that you will only be able to generate the receipt for the exam fee after the payment of the three instalments are complete. 

It will not be possible to sit the exam until all payments have been made and the total amount received.
